ST. PAUL, Minn.—Minnesotans looking for private health insurance have until Saturday, January 15, to enroll in coverage through MNsure, the state’s health insurance exchange. Minnesotans who enroll by the January 15 deadline will have coverage starting on February 1, 2022.

Most Minnesotans – including families with middle incomes – qualify for advanced premium tax credits that instantly lower the monthly cost of health insurance. Access to /mnsure/financial-help/index.jspthese savings is only available through MNsure.

The January 15 deadline does not apply to Minnesotans with coverage through /mnsure/financial-help/ma-mncare/index.jspMinnesotaCare or Medical Assistance, or members of /mnsure/new-customers/who-can-enroll/american-indians/index.jspfederally recognized tribes, who can enroll through MNsure any time of year, including outside of the annual open enrollment period.
