ST. PAUL, Minn.-MNsure today announced the 26 organizations receiving outreach and enrollment grants for the upcoming year. Grantees include respected community organizations from across Minnesota.
"Our vision with these grantees is to build a network of assistance where each region of Minnesota is served year-round by highly trained, expert navigators, with experience using outreach techniques that have proven effective," said interim CEO Allison O'Toole. "Many of these grantee organizations specialize in building relationships with populations facing barriers to enrollment or renewal. These organizations are able to connect with and educate uninsured Minnesotans about the importance of having health insurance, and their options of obtaining that coverage through MNsure."
/mnsure/assets/2015-Outreach-Enrollment-Grant-Program-Summary_tcm34-183068.pdfApproximately $4.2 million in grants have been issued to fund outreach and enrollment efforts from July 1, 2015, until June 30, 2016. Grantees were chosen through a selection process that included a diverse team of internal and external reviewers, and were categorized into one of three funding areas.
Funding Area 1: Navigator Network Grants
Collaborative networks of highly skilled navigator organizations focused on enrollment, outreach and building geographic coverage and coordination.
Funding Area 2: Outreach and Enrollment Grants
Navigator organizations with expertise in reaching a specific population with high levels of uninsured, focused on outreach, education and enrollment.
Funding Area 3: Outreach and Education Mini Grants
Supporting outreach and education activities that connect consumers or small businesses to enrollment assistance, focused on reaching consumers facing particular barriers.
"Between October 2013 and September 2014, MNsure grantees were credited with supporting 61 percent of all navigator-assisted enrollments through MNsure," said O'Toole. "MNsure grantees already have a proven track record of lowering the uninsured rate in Minnesota, and are working to enroll those still lacking coverage."
The 26 MNsure grants will fund 79 different organizations. Many MNsure grantees will work with partner organizations. /mnsure/assets/2015-Outreach-Enrollment-Program-Grantees_tcm34-183069.pdfInformation about each grantee, including award amount (PDF).
