Medicare Enrollees: Individuals with Medicare should not use MN-EES to apply for coverage. If they are seeking Medical Assistance or a Medicare Savings Program, they must complete the DHS-3876 Application for Certain Populations. Please ask all clients over age 65 or who have a disability if they have Medicare. We are seeing an increase in applications that omit Medicare coverage, resulting in incorrect eligibility determinations.

MN-EES Applications: It is important to remember that METS and MN-EES share information through data transfers. If children have MA coverage in METS and are listed as non-applicants on an adult’s MN-EES application, their MA coverage will end. If the family only has an active METS case for MA, contact the county to report the change in applicant status rather than submitting a new application. Once the adults on the application are determined eligible for QHP, their information will transfer to MN-EES, allowing them to claim their accounts.
